Unfortunately, I was only seen from half way through the song because I was in the restroom and I didn't realize it was my family's turn to entertain. Oh well! I'm not very familiar with the words to the song anyway, so as you can tell, I decided to stay in the back and play the ukulele. I hate being up there anyway and not have anything in my hands.

The HIGHLY ANTICIPATED Video!!

Here is a link off of Youtube of clips from my nephew's, Matthew, graduation luau. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqhaJXDV7ac It is very funny and entertaining. Check it out and enjoy!

Week Long Scout Camp at Camp Potosi

Joey went on one of his week long camping trips to Camp Potosi, just about an hour from where we live. He really didn't want to go at first, mostly because I was gone to Hawaii and he knew I'd be coming home while he was away at camp. He's such a "home body", just like me. Anyway, the parents were invited up to camp the last night, Friday, for a dinner. I was really excited to go because I missed him and wanted to see him again. Bryce & I, and a couple of other parents went up and enjoyed a Steak Dinner with our boys. After dinner Joey and Andrew Blake got to be involved in the "Retiring of the Flag" ceremony which was to be held during the campfire later that night, so they had a practice session and we were able to watch that. It was nice to see Joey involved in things I know he would not experience anywhere else. I think towards the end of the week, Joey really had a nice time. It probably would've been a lot easier for him if his dad was there the whole week since he is the Scoutmaster, but it didn't work out that way for Bryce's schedule. At least next months week long camp in Arizona will be different. Bryce will be there the whole time.

My Trip to Hawaii

I had the privilege of going back to my home...Hawaii, on June 9, 2008 mainly to attend my nephew's graduation luau. Unfortunately my family couldn't come with me due to the cost of airfare and having to fly 5 other people there. It just didn't work for us financially. My nephew, Matthew Moa, graduated from Kapolei High School and his parents put a luau together for all his family and friends to celebrate. The party was on June 14th, and everyone had a great time! It was nice seeing relatives and friends I hadn't seen for a long time. The food was ono(delicious), the company was great, but what was most special for me was being able to get together with my family/siblings and singing again...something we always did growing up. Unfortunately, one of my siblings, Kaiana from Idaho, wasn't able to make it. I was only in Hawaii for one week and the time sure flew by quickly. I wished I could've stayed longer, but the time that I did spend there was something very memorable for me. I was able to spend time with my mom who has Alzheimer's, and although she probably didn't know who I was, it was still very special for me. Of course spending time with my dad was special, and seeing how he takes great care of my mom really gave me a sense of peace knowing mom was in good hands. Seeing my sister and brothers and their families was great! We had such a nice time together...I miss them all so much! It was kinda bittersweet for me to leave Hawaii, the home I love and the family I love, but I really missed my husband and kids and knew this was really where I needed to be. Now that I'm home again with MY family, I'm cherishing every moment and making up for the lost time.

Introducing...the Taukinukufili Family

Hi everyone! My name is Luana and I will probably be the one managing our family's blog. First things first, let me introduce our family to you. My husband is Bryce...we have been married for 14 years. We have 4 children: Joey (13 yrs.), Vaughn (10 yrs.), Sierra (9 yrs.), and Cheyenne (6 yrs.). We reside in Henderson, Nevada just outside Las Vegas, probably about 10 min. from the famous Strip. We have been in Nevada since 2004, but have lived in Henderson just a little over a year now and we really like it here. I'm really excited to finally get things going on our blog and I hope you'll all enjoy the happenings going on in our family. Aloha!!
